The hamlet of Poggiolo di Montù Beccaria, in the Oltrepò Pavese area in Lombardy (Italy)

LOCATION AND EXPOSURE OF THE VINEYARDS
Grapes from a selected historic company vineyard in the “Costera” area with a total area of approximately 0.5 hectares, facing south-east.

PLANTING DENSITY AND VINE TRAINING SYSTEM
Guyot, with an average planting density of
about 3.500-3.800 vines/hectare.

GRAPE BLEND AND HARVEST PERIOD
Croatina 100%.
Traditional harvest by hand during the last ten days of September / first ten days of October.

VINIFICATION AND BOTTLING
Traditional red vinification, de-stemming of grapes and subsequent fermentation with maceration (7 days) in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, racking and refining of the wine obtained by completing at least two decanting operations before bottling carried out starting from February / March following the harvest. Subsequent aging in the bottle.

SENSORY TEST AND TECHNICAL NOTES
A lively but at the same time full-bodied wine, with a deep ruby red color, an intense and fruity aroma with hints of wild berries at first impact, a full and pleasantly soft taste with a pleasant tannic note. Alcohol content: 13/14% by vol – Acidity: 6,00/6,50 g/l

FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes very well with cold cuts, structured pasta dishes, roasted or stewed red meat dishes and medium-aged cheeses. Serving temperature: 16/18 ° C
